Tinas kålpudding in english

Kålpudding 4 servings:
- 1 medium size cabbage head
- 2 Tbsp dark melasses
- 1 Tbsp vinegar

1 big chopped yellow onion
- 1 cup cooked cooled rice
- 1 egg
- 2 dl milk
- 500 gr ground beef and pork
- 1 Tbsp dark melasses

Cook the rice (if you do not have any leftovers) Preheat the oven to 200º C. Chop the cabbage into rough pieces. Sear cabbage, until it softened and received a golden brown color. Flavor with syrup, vinegar, salt and pepper.
Mix together onions, rice, egg, milk and meat. Season withsalt, pepper and syrup.
Add half of the cabbage in the bottom of a baking pan. Cover with the meat mix. Cover with the rest of the cabbage.
Let kålpuddingen bake in the oven for about 50-60 minutes. Check with a knife that the meat is done.
Serve with lingonberry as accessories.
Tips:
For a not so traditional swedish dish you can add soya sauce instead of salt when seasoning the cabbage.
I often make 2 and put one in the freezer for a busier day.
